The REAL works with asset owners seeking to bring racial and gender equity to their investment decision-making. In 2024, The REAL began operating as a program under Rhia Ventures.

Our Approach:

Advising: We provide actionable interventions that integrate a racial and gender equity lens in investment decision making for asset owners who wish to align their strategy and values.

Field Building: We raise awareness, build tools and frameworks to shift capital, and develop opportunities for an economy that works for all.

The REAL uses a number of tools and frameworks to support learning and action in the field. These include the following:

• The REAL Framework is a proprietary tool developed by Erika Seth Davies to inform equity in investment decision-making.
• Due Diligence 2.0 is an inclusive due diligence process to expand the aperture for investment opportunities developed by partners including the REAL.
• The Innovative Investors Toolkit and Transparency Dashboard were developed by The Diverse Investing Collective, which began operating under the REAL in 2025.
